All contributions to WikiSynergy are released under the CC-BY-SA-3.0 license unless otherwise stated in the ways listed below.
The {{Copyrighted}} template
You can retain the copyright to a work by displaying the {{Copyrighted}} template on a page. The {{Copyrighted}} template looks like this:
It appears on a page when you write {{Copyrighted}}.
Do not put the {{Copyrighted}} template on a page without first arranging it with the operators of this site, unless the page is in your Userspace. In general, we wish to keep pages open to improvement, so only certain works will be accepted under copyright, with the permission of their authors. If you write original copyrighted work on this site, your saving it on WikiSynergy constitutes your permission for us to publish and link to this work for as long as we choose.
Mixed copyright
On some pages, only part of the text is copyrighted. For example, when copyrighted work is reproduced here by permission, in order to permit debate. In such a case, it must be specifically noted on the page which sections, or what type of sections (e.g. all "criticism" sections) are copyrighted. However, if someone forgets to put in such copyright notice, it does not detract from the fact of copyright by the original copyright owner.
Other licenses
Works may be displayed under other licenses such as the GNU Free Documentation License if they are copied from another source where they were under that license and if they display information to that effect in the article. Otherwise, they are released under one of the other copyrights as described on this page. You are responsible for adhering to the copyright of any work copied.
If there is no copyright displayed
Unless the page displays the {{Copyrighted}} or other copyright template, or displays other copyright information as allowed on this page, you are releasing your writing under the CC-BY-SA-3.0 and it may be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will. If you are not comfortable with this, you should not contribute.
By submitting material to WikiSynergy, you are promising us that you wrote your contribution yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource, or that you own the copyright and you give WikiSynergy permission to publish and link to this work for as long as we choose. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM US!
Attribution
Work copied from WikiSynergy which was under the CC-BY-SA-3.0 license must have a link to the page on WikiSynergy from which it was taken, or to the Main page if and only if the original page no longer exists. This link must be visible to a human who visits the page, and must contain the word "WikiSynergy." We also request that you remove the nofollow property from the links on your site, or at least the links to WikiSynergy. Both Mediawiki and popular blog software such as WordPress put the nofollow property in by default.
