JzG (real name Guy Chapman) is a Wikipedia administrator. He describes himself as "sometimes cyclist, often geek, acceptable baritone singer, dad, Volvo owner and a few other things."^[8] His username at Wikipedia was originally Just zis Guy, you know? ,^[9]^[10] a reference to a fictional character in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Beeblebrox is described by his brain-care specialist as "Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?" and holds the position of President of the Galaxy. The President's job is to draw attention away from real power. JzG's userpage requests that

If you are going to be a dick, please be a giant dick, so we can ban you quickly and save time. Thank you so much.

JzG does a great deal of administrative work, including the removal of spam ^[11] and general troll fighting. As one of the longest serving administrators he has a large number of supportive friends on Wikipedia. He has been instrumental in defending others such as Jimbo Wales when they have been subject to criticism.

On his talk page, JzG has a userbox which says "Were this admin to act in a foolish, trollish, or dickish way, he is open to being slapped with a large trout." In September 2008 Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee noted Chapman's longstanding and valued contributions to Wikipedia, including "enforcing policies such as those governing copyright issues and biographies of living persons; and protecting the encyclopedia from would-be misusers of project resources," noting also that JzG had been harassed. It went on to say that JzG had been uncivil even after a Request for Comment, and used his administrative powers wrongly. However, the Committee said that he had taken a break and later seemed to have improved.^[12] Along with the other parties in the case, JzG was "admonished for having engaged in the problematic user conduct." The third Request for Comment on JzG, centering around abuse of administrative privileges, has recently closed, and a second case has been brought before the Arbitration Committee.
