Hello Sterile

Format
Hm, the reason for the format here was to be able to give direct links to the different points. Can that be done easily with numbers? PuRple scissorʇɐןʞ 04:41, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but the sub-headers weren't descriptive anyway, it made for an awful TOC (just go back one edit and look at it!). As it is, it's only 14 lines in one section. Easy to link to, isn't it? And as entries get added, removed, or changed, the # links would fail anyway. Human 05:05, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Stylistic difference, I suppose. I agree with Human; the headers didn't provide any real function except to make the TOC look big. Look at the old version and decide. I won't lose sleep if it's reverted. Sterile 12:31, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- (PS: There are ways to make links within the article, but I'm not sure that's what you're asking. Maybe if they are expanded a bit, we could put them back? I don't know--it's really a judgement call.) Sterile 00:53, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Belated response
I haven't been here for a bit, so I only just got you message from 10 November. I actually wiped my email address from RW and then forgot. I have rectified that, but my email here & at aSK both work (and are both the same as the RW email address). As to commenting on your talk page after you blocked yourself, you unblock yourself whenever you feel like it, so it's not really an impediment. LowKey 15:01, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- My self-adminstered block ends Sunday. I'm too busy right now anyway to really participate, and I'm not sure whether I want to participate (or whatever you want to call it) as actively as I did before at this point. Sterile 18:03, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
Another belated response
I only just logged in and found your "what's up" mesage from January! Obviously the problem has now been rectified. I figure you will read this about quarter past Octember. LowKey 08:50, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Or next half-Fambruarch! Human 09:48, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, most folks have an e-mail sent when their user pages are changed, and I think my RSS feed still works for this page as well. So I noticed it a quarter 'til Mapril. Sterile 12:58, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Burp
Anyone home? Sterile 02:26, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- I am. But given that account creation is disabled and only admins can post in this joint, I seriously doubt anyone else is home or will be in the near future. 'Tis a shame, really. Gooniepunk2005 03:47, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- For some reason Sterile's edit didn't show on my recent changes page. But anyway, the only edits/users we were getting were spam. If there's any indication that someone wants to use the site, I could re-open it. PuRple scissorʇɐןʞ 06:08, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- I see that. What I'd suggest, though, is that you create a system (such as an e-mail account) where people who want an account can send an e-mail telling you what they want their username to be. Then, you (or anyone else that's an admin) could create the account for them and give them a temporary password that they can then change. Given this is a low-use Wiki, it should be simple enough. - It's a good idea but how do I implement it when people click the log in link? PuRple scissorʇɐןʞ 18:06, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- A good way to implement it would be to place something near the top of that main page with a headline saying "Want to edit? Send an e-mail to (insert e-mail address) and we'll give you an account!". I've seen other Wikis work this way. Gooniepunk2005 13:40, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Another possible solution would be to create an "Editors" user group that, after the creation of an account, could be awarded to that account (either automatically or by another editor or administrator) after a certain period of time has lapsed (I would recommend 3 days for said period). Spambots usually break immediately after they cannot edit (I have yet to see one come back after it's been disrupted), and that way people who are legitimate know they only have to wait a certain period of time before they are allowed editing rights. Gooniepunk2005 13:46, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I don't know how to change what it says when you click the login link, but I could do that from the main page. PuRple scissorʇɐןʞ 16:15, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
